NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Stevens County Commissioners at the below listed time & date, and will then and there be opened and publicly read for the below listed improvement. The mailing address is: Stevens County Commissioners, 215 S. Oak, Colville, WA 99114.  The physical address for bids delivered any way other than the US Postal Service and the bid opening address is: Stevens County Commissioners, 230 E. Birch Ave., Colville, WA.

The bid opening location is barrier free and ADA accessible. Oak, Colville, WA 99114 or by calling (509) 684-3751 five working days prior to the date of the hearing.

Occupancy is limited, open public meetings/ hearings will be conducted in a hybrid manner until further notice; please contact the Commissioners’ Office for public access information via WebEx.

The major items of work for both bridges include partial depth deck removal and replacement. This project is a Federal Aid project and has a fourteen percent (14%) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal.

All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check or surety bonds in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal.  Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such a contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to Stevens County.

All original proposals must be delivered to the specified place at or before the specified time.  No faxed, electronically transferred or otherwise transmitted modifications to the original sealed bid submitted at the affixed place and bid opening time will be accepted.

Informational copies of maps, plans, and specifications are on file for inspection at the Stevens County Public Works Department, Office of County Engineer, 185 E. Hawthorne, Colville, WA 99114, (509) 684-4548.  Hard copy maps, plans and specifications may be obtained from this office for a fee. Alternatively, electronic versions may be obtained via email request to publicworks@stevenscountywa.gov.

Stevens County in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252,42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
