Congressman Brett Guthrie, Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and Congressman Bob Latta, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy, have announced an upcoming hearing focused on appliance and building policies. The hearing is titled “Appliance and Building Policies: Restoring the American Dream of Home Ownership and Consumer Choice.”
According to Chairmen Guthrie and Latta, “Throughout this Congress, our Committee has heard testimony from witnesses on how red tape and bureaucratic mandates have led to higher energy costs and fewer options for American families. During this legislative hearing, we will examine several bills that support consumer freedom by undoing harmful regulations, reduce costs for Americans, and help strengthen our electric grid by using reliable and affordable baseload power sources.”
The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 10:15 AM ET in Room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The session will address a range of bills related to home appliances, energy use, and infrastructure:
