As Washington State gradually returns to normalcy after being one of the first in the country to be hit by COVID-19, Okanogan County commissioners sought cooperation among their residents.
Most of Washington's counties have entered the second phase of reopening, according to Methow Valley News.
The commissioners wrote a letter to Okanogan County citizens reminding them of their resiliency and courage, as well as encouraging them to continue practicing safety measures recommended to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
The letter, which was disseminated on May 18, was drafted by County Commissioner Andy Hover in an effort to get residents to do their part to help Okanogan County transition into Phase II, the Methow Valley News reported.
“We’re not opening the floodgates, but we want people to be able to safely patronize businesses so they can re-open,” Hover told Methow Valley News.
The final draft was composed by all three commissioners.
