The Methow Valley School District will offer both in-person and remote learning this year, the Methow Valley News reported.
It’s one of only a few schools in Washington State are offering in-person instruction.
Okanogan County Health Officer John McCarthy supports the decision, although he noted there is some risk with in-person instruction.
Methow Valley will offer a hybrid model with two days of in-person instruction and three days of remote learning, and a 100% remote option, the Methow Valley News reported.
The school district expects about 75% of students to be on-campus for two days a week.
The hybrid and remote-learning programs started Sept. 8 and kindergarten will start on Sept. 14.
Staff will be tested for COVID-19 the first week of school and students the week of Sept. 14, the Methow Valley News reported.
There have been only 11 COVID cases in the Methow Valley since March.
