STEVENS COUNTY: CDBG-CV1 Public Hearing to be held on October 14, 2020

Stevens County recently issued the following announcement.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held in the Stevens County Commissioners’ Office located at 230 E. Birch Avenue, Colville, WA 99114 (the old Avista Building) at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020. 

The purpose of the public hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from lower income persons residing in the Stevens County area. Up to $179,716 of CDBG-CV1 funds may be available to Stevens County and the Northeast Tri County Health District (NETCHD) to fund CDBG public services and local microenterprise assistance programs; and public health, emergency response, or temporary housing facilities that address COVID-19 impacts. All CDBG funded activities must benefit low and moderate-income persons or meet the CDBG urgent need national objective criteria. The draft application for the Stevens County/ NETCHD proposal is available for review at the Stevens County Commissioners’ Office during business hours. Written comments may be submitted to: Stevens County Commissioners; 215 S. Oak; Colville, WA 99114 until 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 31st, 2020. Persons needing special accommodations should contact the Clerk of the Board at (509) 684-3751 five working days prior to the date of the hearing.
