Details:

The City of Colville is embarking on a community-driven effort to create a long-range vision for Parks, Recreation and Open Space.  The plan will build off previous planning efforts, but also will seek to identity gaps in parks related services and provide a community inspired vision that captures all members of the community.

Why Plan?

Planning for the future of recreation in Colville is the first step towards improving parks facilities, access, and improving or maintaining quality of life for residents. The objectives of this plan are to:

• Develop a Washington Growth Management Act (GMA)-compliant plan that maintains funding eligibility with Washington State's Recreation & Conservation Office (RCO).

• Be rooted in community preferences through a range of engagement opportunities.

• Create a vision and guiding document for the City's system of parks, recreation facilities, and     services that meets the expressed and anticipated needs of the community.

• Build upon previous/current planning efforts, including the Comprehensive Plan, Strategic Plan, Bike & Pedestrian Trail Plan, and the Colville Mountain Plan.

• Catalog the City's current inventory of parks, trails, open spaces, and recreation facilities.

• Identify and analyze the demands, needs, and desired improvements from the community, including programmatic gaps and identification of shared amenities with neighboring cities and regional areas.

• Provide data-driven analysis.

• Identify appropriate service levels, costs, and funding opportunities.

• Outline physical and programmatic improvements for over the short and long term, including concept plans and project narratives targeted to specific funding sources.

• Provide implementation strategies, including phasing and potential partnerships.

For this effort to be successful, YOUR input is needed!

A variety of engagement opportunities will be provided through the course of this effort which is anticipated to be competed in 2023.

Please join us Wednesday, March 15th anytime from 4-6 pm at the Colville Junior High School at 990 S Cedar St. to help kick off the PROS Plan for the City of Colville and make your voice heard!

Please stay tuned for future opportunities to provide input!
