House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rogers (R-WA) announced significant changes to the Republican Members' subcommittee assignments today. The updates include shifts in responsibilities and new roles for several representatives within the committee.
According to Chair Rodgers, "Rep. Greg Pence (R-IN) will join the Subcommittee on Environment, Manufacturing, and Critical Materials and leave the Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce." She also stated that "Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX) will serve as Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology." In addition, Chair Rodgers mentioned that "Rep. Rick Allen (R-GA) will join the Subcommittee on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security and leave the Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce."
The changes continue as "Rep. Troy Balderson (R-OH) will join the Subcommittee on Health and leave the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology," and "Rep. Marianette Miller Meeks (R-IA) will join the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology." Furthermore, "Rep. Jay Obernolte (R-CA) will join the Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce and leave the Subcommittee on Environment, Manufacturing, and Critical Materials," and "Rep. John James (R-MI) will serve on both the Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce and the Subcommittee on Environment, Manufacturing, and Critical Materials."
The new Subcommittee Rosters will reflect these changes in assignments. The Subcommittee on Communications and Technology will be chaired by Bob Latta (OH-05) and includes representatives such as Gus Bilirakis (FL-12), Tim Walberg (MI-05), and Vice Chair Randy Weber (TX-14). The Subcommittee on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security will be led by Chair Jeff Duncan (SC-03) and Vice Chair John Curtis (UT-03), with members like Michael Burgess (TX-26) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) also participating.
Chair Buddy Carter (GA-01) will lead the Subcommittee on Environment, Manufacturing, and Critical Materials, while the Subcommittee on Health will be chaired by Brett Guthrie (KY-02) with Larry Bucshon (IN-08) serving as Vice Chair. The Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce will see Gus Bilirakis (FL-12) as Chair and Tim Walberg (MI-05) as Vice Chair.
Lastly, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will be chaired by Morgan Griffith (VA-09) and include members like Michael Burgess (TX-26) and Dan Crenshaw (TX-02).
