TranGO Purchases New Vehicles

Okanogan County Transit Authority, dba TranGO, is excited to announce the arrival of 6 new 9-passenger transit vans. These vans are economical, offer

a smooth ride with unobstructed views, and are front-wheel drive which is beneficial during winter weather.  Three of the new vans are being utilized in

the Methow Valley to provide services between Twisp-Winthrop, Twisp-Pateros, and Twisp-Okanogan. TranGO anticipates also using these vans to

transport passengers for recreational activities such as trail hiking, mountain-biking, and cross-country skiing; however, due to driver shortages,

transportation services for these types of activities are not yet being offered. TranGO’s vision is to expand services by offering earlier and later routes for

the working class, recreational transportation for the outdoor enthusiast, and expansion of services such as to Conconully, Loomis, Aeneas Valley, or

other locations throughout the county; the data is still being gathered on expansion areas. “TranGO is looking forward to expanding services and routes

to Okanogan County residents and with the arrival of more vans/buses, that is now in the foreseeable future”, stated TranGO, General Manager, Brent

Timm.

In addition to the 6 new vans which have arrived, Timm has ordered 5 additional 20-passenger buses which are expected to arrive the later part of 2023.

Those buses will replace older buses which have high mileage or mechanical issues. “We are excited about the things we have happening right now in

our agency. We are looking for ways to offer more services to the people of Okanogan County as well as expanding our fleet and utilizing up and coming

technologies to reduce vehicle emissions through a partnership with the Okanogan County PUD”, says Timm. Due to the rising costs of fuel, and to help

reduce emissions, more and more people are using public transportation services.

The cost to ride is very economical at just $1.00 per boarding, while individuals 18 years of age and under ride for free. If you are interested in becoming
