House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers has praised the House passage of the Energy Emergency Leadership Act. In a statement, Rodgers commended the bipartisan effort behind the bill, led by Rep. Tim Walberg and Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester.
"Strengthening American energy security continues to be a top priority for the Energy and Commerce Committee," said Chair Rodgers. "By elevating energy emergency response to the Senate-confirmed Assistant Secretary level, the Energy Emergency Leadership Act ensures the Department of Energy is better able to coordinate, prepare for, and respond to all threats to our nation’s energy supply. I applaud Reps. Walberg and Blunt Rochester for their bipartisan work to harden our critical energy infrastructure and enhance our national security."
The Energy Emergency Leadership Act, which passed with broad bipartisan support, aims to enhance the coordination and preparedness of the Department of Energy in responding to energy emergencies.
