Today, Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02), Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, announced the appointment of Subcommittee Chief Counsels for the 119th Congress.
Kate O’Connor Harper will serve as Chief Counsel for the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology. Harper has been part of this subcommittee for five years. She previously held the position of Chief of Staff at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, focusing on spectrum and broadband issues.
Giulia Leganski has been named Chief Counsel for the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade. Before this role, Leganski was a Professional Staff Member for the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, dealing with topics such as Big Tech and cybersecurity.
Mary K. Martin will take on the role of Chief Counsel for the Subcommittee on Energy. Martin has experience as policy counsel at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Environment, Technology & Regulatory Affairs Division.
Jake Tyner is appointed as Chief Counsel for the Subcommittee on Environment. Tyner's previous experience includes serving as General Counsel for Senator Dan Sullivan, where he worked on energy-related issues.
Jay Gulshen will serve as Chief Counsel for the Subcommittee on Health. Gulshen recently worked as a Senior Health Advisor for Medicare Part B and Part D within Energy and Commerce.
Brittany Havens is set to be Chief Counsel for the Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations. Havens' background includes serving as a Senior Oversight Counsel working with federal agencies oversight within Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee.
The staff under these appointments will work under Megan Jackson, Sophie Khanahmadi, and Joel Miller in their respective roles within Energy and Commerce Committee leadership.
