Congressional subcommittee schedules hearing on US leadership in wireless technology

Today, Congressmen Brett Guthrie and Richard Hudson announced the first hearing of the 119th Congress for the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology. The hearing, titled “Strengthening American Leadership in Wireless Technology,” is set to take place on January 23, 2025.

The chairmen emphasized the importance of next-generation wireless technology for innovation and participation in the economy. They stated, “Next generation wireless technology is a critical component of technological innovation and necessary to ensure all Americans can fully participate in the 21st century economy. The United States needs a strategic spectrum policy that empowers our innovators to fully compete on the global stage.” They also expressed their anticipation to hear from stakeholders about enhancing American leadership.

The hearing will be held at 10:00 AM ET at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C., and it will be open to both the public and press. It will also be available via live stream on the Energy and Commerce Committee's website.
