Today, Congressman Brett Guthrie, who serves as the Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, responded to the White House's announcement of a $500 billion investment by private companies in U.S. AI infrastructure.
"This massive investment in American infrastructure makes clear that the United States is prepared to lead the world in next-generation technologies," stated Chairman Guthrie. He emphasized that his committee is already tackling various challenges related to increased AI technology investment. These challenges include rising energy demands, the need for permitting reform, and ensuring data security for Americans.
Chairman Guthrie also noted, "The commitment announced this week is proof that industry leaders are ready to work with Congressional Republicans and President Trump to spark an economy that creates jobs, supports our communities, and provides opportunities for all Americans."
