Today, Congressman Brett Guthrie of Kentucky's 2nd District, who chairs the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, commented on the confirmation of Howard Lutnick as Secretary of the Department of Commerce by the U.S. Senate.

Guthrie emphasized the importance of the Department of Commerce in addressing global competition challenges. He stated, "As our country confronts the challenges of competing on the global stage, the Department of Commerce plays a central role in promoting American leadership in AI and other cutting-edge technologies, along with closing the digital divide and utilizing the full range of communication technologies."

He expressed confidence in Lutnick's capabilities to lead the department and support American businesses. "Howard Lutnick is the right person to run the Commerce Department and help American businesses succeed," said Guthrie. He also looks forward to collaborating with Secretary Lutnick to boost economic growth and implement President Trump's agenda aimed at benefiting all Americans.
