Today, Congressmen Brett Guthrie and Gary Palmer announced an upcoming hearing titled "Aging Technology, Emerging Threats: Examining Cybersecurity Vulnerabilities in Legacy Medical Devices." Guthrie is the Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, while Palmer chairs the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.

In a joint statement, Guthrie and Palmer emphasized the importance of medical devices in healthcare systems. They noted that some devices have cybersecurity vulnerabilities that need addressing to protect patients and national security. The hearing aims to explore these vulnerabilities, their impact on patient safety, health operations, and strategies for enhancing cyber resilience.
