House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy Rodgers (R-WA) has criticized President Biden's border policy, labeling it as a "catastrophic failure." Rodgers expressed her concerns, stating, "President Biden’s border policy has been nothing short of a catastrophic failure. His open-border agenda is unsustainable, irresponsible, and inhumane."

Rodgers further emphasized the impact of the border crisis on national security, mentioning that "His failure to secure the border has made every city in the country a border town." She highlighted the importance of passing legislation such as the Secure the Border Act and the HALT Fentanyl Act to address these issues, stating, "This administration should support and pressure the Senate to pass H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, and H.R. 467, the HALT Fentanyl Act, to strengthen our national security and protect Americans from the scourge of deadly drugs pouring across our border."

Rodgers also called on President Biden to take immediate action, saying, "President Biden needs to respond to the concerns of the American people and secure our border immediately."

The Energy and Commerce Committee Chair's statement comes after Energy and Commerce Republicans conducted a tour of the border, witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by border patrol personnel due to current policies. Rodgers and her colleagues met with border patrol personnel who expressed frustration with the administration's approach, which they believe hinders their ability to perform their duties effectively.

In conclusion, Rodgers urged President Biden to prioritize border security and sign the HALT Fentanyl Act into law to combat the influx of dangerous drugs into the country.
