Today, Congressman Brett Guthrie, who serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, commented on the recent confirmation of Rep. Lee Zeldin by the U.S. Senate as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Guthrie expressed his concerns about past EPA policies, stating, "For far too long, EPA policies have picked winners and losers, limited economic growth, and driven up costs for working families." He emphasized that with Zeldin's confirmation, there is an opportunity for leadership at the EPA that will focus on "commonsense environmental stewardship" aimed at protecting human health while realigning the agency with its core mission by reducing excessive regulations.
Chairman Guthrie congratulated Administrator Zeldin on his new role and expressed his eagerness to collaborate with him in developing policies that prioritize American interests.
