Congressman Brett Guthrie, who chairs the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, issued a statement following the signing of H.J. Res. 35 by President Donald Trump. This resolution repeals the natural gas tax introduced during the Biden-Harris Administration.

"The signing of H.J. Res. 35 is a victory for the American businesses and families who would have been forced to bear the cost of the Biden-Harris Administration’s natural gas tax," Chairman Guthrie stated. He emphasized the importance of "restoring American energy dominance by harnessing innovation and producing the natural gas needed to support our electric grid."

Guthrie also expressed gratitude towards Congressman August Pfluger for his dedication to advocating for American energy and his efforts in facilitating the passage of this legislation.
