Today, in Washington, D.C., Congressman Brett Guthrie, Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, along with Congressman Earl L. “Buddy” Carter, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health, released a statement following the Senate's confirmation of Dr. Mehmet Oz as Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The Congressmen expressed their thoughts on the role of CMS, stating that it is "integral" for making health care accessible to various groups such as seniors, pregnant women, children, and those with disabilities. They highlighted Dr. Oz's credentials, describing him as "an accomplished physician, an innovator, and a world-class communicator." They believe Dr. Oz will be instrumental in modernizing CMS by implementing new technology that will enhance the services provided by health care providers.

The chairmen reiterated their eagerness to collaborate with Dr. Oz in efforts to improve health outcomes across the United States.
